Welcome to the Broadstone Players Theatre Company

The Broadstone Players Theatre Company is a long standing amateur dramatics group, with a reputation for high quality productions.

Over the years we have won a number of awards for standards of acting, direction and set design and creation.

We have over fifty members covering a wide range of interests and ages.

We welcome all new members 16 years and over, whether your interest is in acting or backstage.

See the Contact page for details of how to join us.

One Act Productions

These are performed during September each year in an informal atmosphere where the audience is served fish and chips during the interval.

We also have a matinee on the first Saturday when the audience is served tea and cake.

All new members are given priority and guaranteed a part. Auditions are immediately after our May full length production.

Rehearsals are usually once a week at the discretion of the Director.

Social Activities

For our members, their family and friends we have many specially arranged evenings throughout the year.

We also have a Club Night on the first Wednesday of each month.

Drama Festivals

We usually enter the Dorset Drama League 1 Act festival each year in March. Other festivals are entered on an ad-hoc basis.

If we are entering, current details can be found on our members page.

Full Length Productions

These are performed during February, May and November of each year.

Rehearsals are decided by the Director and Cast and are usually twice a week.

Details and pictures of some of our productions can be found on our past productions page.

Reviews

Saw Journey’s End on Wednesday. Absolutely brilliant. What a moving emotional roller-coaster, felt you were there in the dug-out with them. All the cast were excellent, Chris Stowe playing Capt Stanhope gave an exceptional performance. You really could feel the tension he was portraying. The audience all around us where affected. I couldn’t stop the tears, and I was not the only one. This performance and the emotion it made you feel were on par with any professional plays, and films I have seen. Well done to all of those involved. You have done yourselves proud.
